Aberdeen Asset Management has appointed
James Laing as it new head of pan-European equities following the
departure of current head Chou Chong.
Chong is leaving after a five year stint in the UK and will be
returning to Singapore to work on the Aberdeen Asia Pacific
regional equities team, which is run by head of equities Hugh Young
and head of Asian equities Peter James.
Laing will also report to Young, while heading up the 20-strong
Pan-European desk. He joined Aberdeen back in 2000 and has a total
of 12 years investment experience.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen has also confirmed the departures of three of
the four managers from recently acquired Glasgow Investment
Iain Lynn, Martin Brown and Craig Yeaman have all left the firm
only six months after its purchase back in September
